Why Billionaires Wake Up At 5a.m

There is a saying that life goes in circles and opportunities get to the stop of everyone but they only come once.

Everyone desires to live a life free of worries but the billion-dollar question is the how.

How do you get to the point where you don’t have to worry about a thing?

This article will be providing a shadow of the true answer to that question.

We will be discussing one of the traits of billionaires, a major key that makes them who they are.

We will be discussing why Billionaires wake up as early as 5 am on a daily basis.

First of all, I want to point out the fact that rich people do things differently: they find solace in uncertainty, pursue their passions and spend at least 15 minutes daily thinking. They also get up very early.

Kindly Pin This

Take, for example, Richard Branson, a self-proclaimed billionaire and founder of the Virgin group, who gets up at 5:45 am, exercises before starting his workday.

Or Jack Dorsey, CEO of Square, who gets up at 5:30 am meditates and runs for 6 miles before beginning his day.

Branson and Dorsey are not the only ones who wake up before the sun.

In his five-year study of 177 self-taught millionaires, author Thomas C. Corley found that nearly 50% of them wake up at least three hours before the start of their workday.

It is a strategy to deal with the inevitable daily interruptions, such as too much meeting time, atrocious traffic or having to pick up a child at school and still have time to do everything that you planned to do that day.

“Life has a way of throwing away the keys of our day,” says Corley in his book, “Change your habits, change your life.

How many of us get our hands up frustrated at the end of a day’s work because the three or four things we wanted to do were replaced by unexpected interruptions?”

“These interruptions affect us and end up forming the belief that we have no control over our lives,” he writes. “This belief makes us helpless.”

Fortunately, the solution is simple: get up earlier.

“Getting up at five in the morning to address the three things you want to accomplish in the day allows you to regain control of your life,” says Corley.

“It gives you the feeling that you are really leading your life, it gives you a sense of power over your life, it puts the reins of your life back into your hands.”

Some of you might wonder why I bring up facts from a written article.

The answer is quite simple: Billionaires put into practice what they read and a lot of them practice the facts which are stated above and it has worked tremendously in their lives. In essence, it is not enough to just read this article but you have to put it into practice.

A couple more reasons on why billionaires wake up early are listed below.

1. Productivity

The world is a quiet place early in the morning. Billionaires use this time to get ahead of their day. They catch up with their emails, plan their days, exercise or deal with things that tend to be neglected during work days. Richard Branson wakes up at 5:45 in the morning, even on vacation on his private island: “time is too precious to lose himself in a long sleep” he says

2. Creativity

Billionaire artists are the most creative in the morning. Waking up with a fresh mind helps to see things clearly and encourages creative people to produce quality work. In addition, creativity is much easier when everyone is still sound asleep and distractions are minimized.

3. Peace of mind

The extra time you earn early in the morning helps billionaires organize their day. They use this time to relax and meditate. Starbucks CEO, Howard Schultz gets up every morning at 4:30 am to walk his three dogs and is at work at 6:00. Many early risers use the early morning to contemplate. As a result, they are more relaxed and alert during the day.

4. Fitness

Billionaires usually do not have the time to exercise during the day so they often train before the sun comes up. Billionaires understand that keeping fit is very important to their health.

These are just four reasons why billionaires wake up as early as they do. The saying that time is money is far from a cliché. If you want to become something better than yourself, you can begin that great journey by simply changing the way you sleep. The benefits are limitless. You don’t have to take my word for it, just take a look at how the rich people around you behave.

Start getting up early today to increase your productivity!
